Stainless Steel Cylinder Head Torx Composite Deck Screws

A 304 / 305 stainless steel composite-deck screw with a compact cylinder head, T20 / T25 Torx drive and Type 17 point. Its head profile and thread geometry are designed to control the visible fixing while engaging the timber support below.
- 304 / 305 stainless steel
- Compact cylinder head
- T20 / T25 Torx / Notched Type 17 auger point
KEY FEATURES & PERFORMANCE
Compact head.
Clean seating.
The cylinder head is intended to press displaced fibres back toward the hole in suitable composite and PVC boards. A Type 17 point assists entry and the specialised thread secures the timber-supported joint. Board profile and head depth remain essential selection details.
- 01
304 / 305 stainless material
The stainless body offers corrosion resistance for outdoor deck assemblies. Select the grade with reference to moisture, exposure and timber treatment for the intended connection.
- 02
Cylinder-head surface control
The compact cylindrical profile is designed to push displaced fibres back around the fixing. This helps limit raised material when the head is matched to the board and installed to the agreed depth.
- 03
Type 17 for prompt entry
The notched point cuts through suitable composite fibres and timber to help the threads start. Follow the board and timber requirements for pilot holes and edge distances.
- 04
Positive Torx engagement
The deep T20 / T25 recess connects to the matching bit for effective torque transfer. Correct alignment and final depth help protect the recess and finished board face.
- 05
Threads for the layered joint
The source lists specialised threads for insertion through the board and engagement in timber. Confirm the actual thread drawing; no reverse upper thread is specified for this cylinder-head model.
- 06
A compact visible profile
The cylinder head provides a distinct face-fixing appearance compared with a flat countersunk head. Review a sample with the exact board cap, colour and seating requirement.

APPLICATIONS & CONNECTION PLANNING
Connections This Range Is Made For
Composite & capstock
Provide the board brand, range and cross-section, including the cap layer. Check cylinder-head seating on a representative sample and follow the specified fixing pattern and hole preparation.
PVC boards
Review the head depth and board movement requirements for the chosen PVC profile. The compact head should be assessed with the actual board, rather than assumed to suit every PVC deck system.
Treated timber decks
For timber-supported or treated-lumber assemblies, include species, treatment and usable joist engagement. Material grade, length and preparation should be selected together for the exposure.
Follow the board and support requirements for the exact joint. Fixing capacity, usable engagement and preparation depend on the selected configuration.
COATING SOLUTIONS
A Finish That Fits
the Project
Head painting, passivation and specialty finishes can be reviewed as part of a custom order for this stainless steel range.
Choose the finish with the board appearance, timber treatment and exposure in mind. Any requested colour, treatment or corrosion test belongs in the agreed specification; custom finishing services do not imply that every treatment is a standard stocked option.

Product, OEM & Packaging Q&A
Product details, custom manufacturing and packaging options for your next enquiry.
Product
Is the cylinder head the same as a countersunk flat head?
No. They have different seating profiles. Compare the head drawing and required position at the board surface rather than reusing the same countersink or stopping depth.
Product
Does this model have a reverse upper thread?
The source describes specialised thread geometry without specifying reverse upper threads. Confirm the ordered drawing; that feature belongs to a separate composite-deck design in the range.
Product
Does the composite-deck label establish board compatibility?
Provide the board range, profile and fixing guidance. Head seating, pilot preparation and the complete screw-and-board combination need to be reviewed for the selected application.
OEM
Can you customise the head, drive or dimensions?
Yes. OEM / ODM enquiries can include head markings, head shape, drive details, dimensions and tolerances. Supply a drawing or the applicable standard so the proposed design can be reviewed.
OEM
Can you match a head colour or special finish?
Yes. Head painting, passivation and specialty treatments can be reviewed with your colour reference and exposure requirements. The process and scope are agreed for the selected screw.
OEM
Can we check samples before full production?
Custom samples and initial inspection reports can be arranged before the production order. Agree the sample specification and review requirements during development.
Packaging
Which packaging formats can we specify?
Options include small polybags, inner boxes, outer cartons and industrial bulk packs. Tell us the quantity per pack and sales channel so the format can be agreed.
Packaging
Can the packaging carry our own brand?
Yes. Supplied logos and artwork can be used for custom box designs and printing across inner and outer packaging. The final artwork is reviewed with the packaging brief.
Packaging
Can you include barcodes, part numbers and shipping marks?
Private labels, UPC / EAN barcodes, part numbers and shipping marks can be included. Provide the required identifiers and label layout for checking with the order.
ORDER SUPPORT
Documents, Production & Delivery
Material & inspection records
Request material test reports (MTRs), mill certificates and the inspection records needed for your order. Document scope and batch traceability are agreed for the selected grade and screw configuration.
Stock & custom production
Stock availability is checked for the requested configuration. Factory-direct bulk and custom orders follow an agreed production schedule based on specification and quantity; dispatch timing is confirmed with the quotation.
Shipping & order support
FOB, CIF and DDP arrangements can be discussed for your destination. The agreed transport route includes shipment tracking, with delivery terms and logistics support set out in the order.
Standards & Material References
| Source dimensional references | ASME B18.6.3 / ASME B18.2.1 / ANSI (designation to be specified) |
|---|---|
| Source material references | ASTM F593 (Group 1: 304/305; Group 2: 316) / ASTM A240 |
Source references require a scope check: F593 covers specified bolts, hex cap screws and studs; A240 covers flat products. They are not blanket certification of this deck screw. Agree the relevant standard and edition.
