Stainless Steel Trim Head Torx Type 17 Deck Screws

Stainless steel Type 17 deck screw with a trim head and Torx drive
PRODUCT VIEW

A 304 / 305 stainless steel deck screw with a low-profile trim head, T20 / T25 Torx recess and Type 17 point. It combines a compact visible fixing with deep threads for timber-supported composite, PVC, capstock and treated-lumber decking.

  • 304 / 305 stainless steel
  • Low-profile trim head
  • T20 / T25 Torx / Notched Type 17 auger point

KEY FEATURES & PERFORMANCE

Subtle fixing.
Firm board contact.

The trim head limits the visible fixing area while the Type 17 notch starts through board fibres. Deep threads engage the underlying timber to draw the board into contact. Specify the board and support together for a clean seat and a secure connection.

  1. 01

    304 / 305 stainless construction

These stainless grades provide corrosion resistance for exterior decking. Match the selected alloy to moisture, timber treatment and site exposure rather than assuming one grade suits every environment.

  2. 02

    Low-profile trim head

The compact head is designed to leave a small visible fixing and reduce displaced board material. Confirm seating depth on the specified board to control surface appearance.

  3. 03

    Deep Torx recess

T20 / T25 drive options provide firm bit engagement for torque transfer. The correct bit and installation setting help reduce slippage and damage to the recess.

  4. 04

    Type 17 fibre-cutting point

The notched point cuts into timber and composite fibres to encourage quick thread engagement. Pilot-hole requirements still depend on board construction, timber density and fixing position.

  5. 05

    Deep threads for board clamping

Sharp thread geometry engages the timber joist to pull the board into contact. This helps limit movement at the fixing; long-term squeak and cupping behaviour also depend on the complete deck design.

  6. 06

    Composite and timber choices

The range covers several board families in its published applications. Review the board profile and fixing instructions alongside the head seat, screw length and usable timber engagement.

APPLICATIONS & CONNECTION PLANNING

Connections This Range Is Made For

01

Composite & capstock

Provide the composite or capped-board manufacturer, section and fixing instructions. The trim head should be checked for surface disturbance and depth on a representative board before use.

02

PVC decking

Match the head seat to the PVC board construction and its required movement allowance. Specify board thickness and timber support so length and engagement can be reviewed together.

03

Treated timber boards

Include the timber species, preservative treatment and exposure conditions. These details guide material selection, pilot holes and edge distances; a Type 17 point does not override the fixing requirements.

Follow the board and support requirements for the exact joint. Fixing capacity, usable engagement and preparation depend on the selected configuration.

COATING SOLUTIONS

A Finish That Fits
the Project

Head painting, passivation and specialty finishes can be reviewed as part of a custom order for this stainless steel range.

Choose the finish with the board appearance, timber treatment and exposure in mind. Any requested colour, treatment or corrosion test belongs in the agreed specification; custom finishing services do not imply that every treatment is a standard stocked option.

CUSTOMER QUESTIONS

Product, OEM & Packaging Q&A

Product details, custom manufacturing and packaging options for your next enquiry.

Product

How does this differ from the metal-drilling trim-head model?

This screw uses a Type 17 point for timber-supported connections. A metal joist calls for a separate drill-point design and a review of the support thickness.

Product

Will the trim head always prevent mushrooming?

The small head is intended to reduce surface disturbance. Results depend on the board profile, preparation and seating depth, so approve the appearance on the actual board.

Product

Are 316 and all lengths included in this range?

The product-specific material listing is 304 / 305. Send any other grade request and the required length for review; listed diameters do not imply every grade-and-length combination is available.

OEM

Can you customise the head, drive or dimensions?

Yes. OEM / ODM enquiries can include head markings, head shape, drive details, dimensions and tolerances. Supply a drawing or the applicable standard so the proposed design can be reviewed.

OEM

Can you match a head colour or special finish?

Yes. Head painting, passivation and specialty treatments can be reviewed with your colour reference and exposure requirements. The process and scope are agreed for the selected screw.

OEM

Can we check samples before full production?

Custom samples and initial inspection reports can be arranged before the production order. Agree the sample specification and review requirements during development.

Packaging

Which packaging formats can we specify?

Options include small polybags, inner boxes, outer cartons and industrial bulk packs. Tell us the quantity per pack and sales channel so the format can be agreed.

Packaging

Can the packaging carry our own brand?

Yes. Supplied logos and artwork can be used for custom box designs and printing across inner and outer packaging. The final artwork is reviewed with the packaging brief.

Packaging

Can you include barcodes, part numbers and shipping marks?

Private labels, UPC / EAN barcodes, part numbers and shipping marks can be included. Provide the required identifiers and label layout for checking with the order.

ORDER SUPPORT

Documents, Production & Delivery

Material & inspection records

Request material test reports (MTRs), mill certificates and the inspection records needed for your order. Document scope and batch traceability are agreed for the selected grade and screw configuration.

Stock & custom production

Stock availability is checked for the requested configuration. Factory-direct bulk and custom orders follow an agreed production schedule based on specification and quantity; dispatch timing is confirmed with the quotation.

Shipping & order support

FOB, CIF and DDP arrangements can be discussed for your destination. The agreed transport route includes shipment tracking, with delivery terms and logistics support set out in the order.

Standards & Material References

Standards & Material References
Source dimensional referencesASME B18.6.3 / ASME B18.2.1 / ANSI (designation to be specified)
Source material referencesASTM F593 (Group 1: 304/305; Group 2: 316) / ASTM A240

Source references require a scope check: F593 covers specified bolts, hex cap screws and studs; A240 covers flat products. They are not blanket certification of this deck screw. Agree the relevant standard and edition.
