Heat-treated 410 · Flat head / Drill point
Stainless Steel Torx Flat Head Self-Drilling Screws

A heat-treated 410 stainless steel screw for wood-to-metal, composite-to-metal and sheet-metal connections. The Torx flat head combines underhead nibs for a recessed seat with a Tek drill point for the support below. Select the screw against both layers of the joint.
- Heat-treated 410 stainless steel
- Countersunk flat head with underhead nibs
- T20 / T25 Torx / Self-drilling Tek point
KEY FEATURES & PERFORMANCE
Flush seating.
Metal drilling.
The hardened 410 body supports metal piercing, while the drill point and threads combine drilling, tapping and fastening. The countersunk head and cutting nibs address the visible surface; the board and supporting metal still need their own preparation checks.
- 01
Heat-treated 410 strength
Heat treatment develops hardness for metal piercing and strength to carry installation forces. Select the screw for the support grade and thickness; exact mechanical properties belong in the agreed specification.
- 02
Drill, tap and fasten
The Tek point cuts into suitable metal supports before the threads engage. Combining these operations can streamline fastening, with drilling capacity checked for the selected screw and metal.
- 03
A recessed flat-head seat
Nibs beneath the countersunk head cut a seating recess as the head enters a suitable surface. Confirm countersink preparation in metal parts and the required finish in timber or composite boards.
- 04
Positive Torx engagement
The deep T20 / T25 recess gives the matching bit a firm contact for torque transfer. Correct bit fit and alignment help reduce slipping and damage to the drive.
- 05
Protection for exposed work
An exterior protective coating is listed for this 410 design. Specify the actual coating system and exposure requirements rather than assuming that every finish delivers the same corrosion performance.
- 06
Two materials, one fixing detail
The screw addresses the head seat in the attached layer and the threaded fixing in the support. Include each material and thickness so the available length and metal engagement can be selected together.

APPLICATIONS & CONNECTION PLANNING
Connections This Range Is Made For
Timber to metal
For wood fixed to metal framing, describe the timber, its thickness and the supporting steel section. The drill point works at the support; pilot-hole and head-seating needs in the timber require separate review.
Composite to metal
Supply the composite board profile, thickness and fixing guidance together with the metal frame details. Confirm whether the board needs a clearance hole or prepared seat before selecting the countersunk head.
Sheet & aluminium work
Thin sheet and aluminium sub-framing are listed applications. Identify the support alloy, wall thickness and countersink geometry; the listed application does not establish a universal drilling capacity.
Follow the board and support requirements for the exact joint. Fixing capacity, usable engagement and preparation depend on the selected configuration.
COATING SOLUTIONS
Protection for
Outdoor Connections
An exterior protective coating is listed for this heat-treated 410 range. Tell us the exposure conditions and finish you require.
The coating system, appearance and acceptance criteria are agreed for the selected screw. Include contact metals and any specified corrosion test in the enquiry; this range has no published coating name, salt-spray duration or service-life figure to apply across all orders.

Product, OEM & Packaging Q&A
Product details, custom manufacturing and packaging options for your next enquiry.
Product
How does this differ from the Type 17 flat-head version?
This model has a Tek drill point and heat-treated 410 body for metal-support selection. A Type 17 screw follows a different point and support route; compare the entire joint, not only the flat head.
Product
Does the drill point remove every preparation step?
It combines drilling and thread formation in a suitable metal support. The attached wood, composite or metal part may still need a clearance hole or countersink, according to the connection detail.
Product
Which dimensions should we include in the enquiry?
The listed diameters are #8, #9 and #10, with T20 / T25 drive options. Send the required length and unit, layer thicknesses and support material so the exact configuration can be confirmed.
OEM
Can you customise the head, drive or dimensions?
Yes. OEM / ODM enquiries can include head markings, head shape, drive details, dimensions and tolerances. Supply a drawing or the applicable standard so the proposed design can be reviewed.
OEM
Can you match a head colour or special finish?
Yes. Head painting, passivation and specialty treatments can be reviewed with your colour reference and exposure requirements. The process and scope are agreed for the selected screw.
OEM
Can we check samples before full production?
Custom samples and initial inspection reports can be arranged before the production order. Agree the sample specification and review requirements during development.
Packaging
Which packaging formats can we specify?
Options include small polybags, inner boxes, outer cartons and industrial bulk packs. Tell us the quantity per pack and sales channel so the format can be agreed.
Packaging
Can the packaging carry our own brand?
Yes. Supplied logos and artwork can be used for custom box designs and printing across inner and outer packaging. The final artwork is reviewed with the packaging brief.
Packaging
Can you include barcodes, part numbers and shipping marks?
Private labels, UPC / EAN barcodes, part numbers and shipping marks can be included. Provide the required identifiers and label layout for checking with the order.
