Heat-treated 410 · Trim head / Drill point
Stainless Steel Trim Head Torx Self-Drilling Deck Screws

A heat-treated 410 stainless steel deck screw with a compact trim head, T20 / T25 Torx drive and Tek drill point. It is designed for composite, PVC and timber boards attached to light-gauge metal framing, with protective coating and painted-head options reviewed for the project.
- Heat-treated 410 stainless steel
- Low-profile trim head
- T20 / T25 Torx / Self-drilling Tek point
KEY FEATURES & PERFORMANCE
Small head.
Metal-frame fixing.
The hardened body and drill point serve the metal frame; the small head keeps the visible fixing compact. Board preparation, head depth and support thickness form one selection brief, with coating and colour coordinated to the finished deck.
- 01
Hardness for metal piercing
The heat-treated 410 body is designed for piercing hardness and strength during installation. Drilling suitability and thread engagement are selected for the actual metal section.
- 02
Self-drilling installation
The Tek point drills into suitable light-gauge steel or aluminium before thread engagement. Check support thickness and screw geometry rather than relying on the deck-screw name for drilling capacity.
- 03
A compact visible fixing
The small trim head is designed to seat with limited surface disturbance in suitable decking. Its profile helps reduce raised material around the hole when the board and seating method are matched.
- 04
Controlled Torx driving
T20 / T25 Torx options provide positive contact with the matching bit. Keep the driver aligned and control final seating to reduce recess damage and excessive head penetration.
- 05
A finish suited to exposure
An exterior protective coating supports outdoor use of the selected configuration. Agree the treatment, environmental conditions and required evaluation method as part of the order.
- 06
Colour coordinated heads
Painted-head options can be reviewed against the composite board colour. Approve the colour and surface appearance on a sample before confirming production.

APPLICATIONS & CONNECTION PLANNING
Connections This Range Is Made For
Composite & PVC boards
Pair the trim-head seat with the actual composite or PVC board profile. Include the board fixing instructions, clearance-hole requirements and intended head depth before selecting a screw for the metal frame.
Timber decking
For wood boards on metal framing, give the species, treatment and board thickness. Pilot holes, edge distances and head depth remain part of the timber fixing detail even when the support can be drilled by the screw.
Light-gauge metal joists
Steel and aluminium joists need their own drilling and compatibility checks. State the metal grade, wall thickness, contact layers and required threaded engagement, including any spacer beneath the board.
Follow the board and support requirements for the exact joint. Fixing capacity, usable engagement and preparation depend on the selected configuration.
COATING SOLUTIONS
Protective Finish.
Coordinated Colour.
Exterior protective coating and colour-matched painted heads are listed options for this 410 trim-head range.
Share the board colour, weather exposure and contact-metal details. We can review the protective finish and painted-head appearance together. Approve a sample and the requested test criteria; no universal salt-spray duration or outdoor lifespan is assigned to this range.

Product, OEM & Packaging Q&A
Product details, custom manufacturing and packaging options for your next enquiry.
Product
Is this the Type 17 trim-head screw for timber joists?
No. This configuration has a Tek drill point for metal-frame review. For a timber joist, compare the Type 17 option together with the board and thread requirements.
Product
Can it be used with every steel or aluminium joist?
Suitability depends on the joist alloy, section thickness and selected screw. Provide the frame detail so drilling, thread engagement and contact-metal exposure can be checked.
Product
Can the head colour match our decking?
Painted-head colour matching is listed as an option. Send the board reference or colour sample; the coating, appearance and exact screw configuration are agreed before production.
OEM
Can you customise the head, drive or dimensions?
Yes. OEM / ODM enquiries can include head markings, head shape, drive details, dimensions and tolerances. Supply a drawing or the applicable standard so the proposed design can be reviewed.
OEM
Can you match a head colour or special finish?
Yes. Head painting, passivation and specialty treatments can be reviewed with your colour reference and exposure requirements. The process and scope are agreed for the selected screw.
OEM
Can we check samples before full production?
Custom samples and initial inspection reports can be arranged before the production order. Agree the sample specification and review requirements during development.
Packaging
Which packaging formats can we specify?
Options include small polybags, inner boxes, outer cartons and industrial bulk packs. Tell us the quantity per pack and sales channel so the format can be agreed.
Packaging
Can the packaging carry our own brand?
Yes. Supplied logos and artwork can be used for custom box designs and printing across inner and outer packaging. The final artwork is reviewed with the packaging brief.
Packaging
Can you include barcodes, part numbers and shipping marks?
Private labels, UPC / EAN barcodes, part numbers and shipping marks can be included. Provide the required identifiers and label layout for checking with the order.
