Stainless Steel Flat Head Torx Self-Drilling Screws

Flat-head Torx screws showing tapered head undersides and self-drilling points
PRODUCT VIEW

A countersunk head provides a flush surface where the attached part has a suitable seat. The Torx drive, self-drilling point and full-length tapping thread support selected wood-to-metal, composite-to-metal and sheet-metal assemblies.

  • Countersunk flat head for a prepared flush seat
  • Deep Torx drive and self-drilling Tek point
  • Heat-treated 410, 304 or 316 stainless steel

KEY FEATURES & PERFORMANCE

Flush seating.
Metal engagement.

The flat head addresses surface clearance, while the point and thread address the receiving metal. These are separate parts of the connection detail: preparing the board or panel for the head does not determine the drilling capacity of the support.

  1. 01

    Material choices for the connection

Heat-treated 410 offers a harder option; 304 and 316 address different exposure requirements. Consider 316 for salt or chemical exposure. The chosen material, point construction and support must be assessed together.

  2. 02

    Countersunk seating

The tapered head can finish flush in a correctly prepared countersink or suitable softer material. Seat angle and depth must match the head; a flush appearance alone does not verify joint performance.

  3. 03

    Torx torque transfer

The deep star recess provides engagement for the matching driver. Straight access and correct bit size support controlled driving and seating, without an absolute no-slip claim.

  4. 04

    Drilling matched to the metal

The Tek point is intended to open the receiving metal before the tapping thread follows. Select the point and material for the actual steel or aluminium section and its thickness.

  5. 05

    Full-length tapping thread

Continuous thread along the shank engages the receiving material. For boards over metal, the upper layer may need clearance so it can clamp properly rather than be held away from the support.

  6. 06

    Flush finish with access retained

A seated flat head avoids a projecting head above the working surface. The Torx recess remains accessible for removal or adjustment when the surrounding assembly allows a straight driver approach.

APPLICATIONS & CONNECTION PLANNING

Connections & Selection Details

01

Wood & composite over metal

Board thickness, clearance through the upper layer and the countersunk seat must be considered separately from drilling into the metal support. This non-winged design does not automatically provide a winged screw’s clearance-hole function.

02

Sheet metal & aluminium

Flush panel fixing requires a suitable countersink and enough material to support the head. Match the drill point to the receiving section and review aluminium contact and finish selection.

03

Machinery enclosures

Flush heads can keep an enclosure surface free of raised projections. Check the seat, internal tip clearance and Torx access, together with vibration or load requirements for the actual assembly.

Use the fixing schedule and data for the selected fastener and joint. Published applications do not establish a rated load or universal installation method.

COATING SOLUTIONS

A Finish for
the Connection

Ruspert is a listed option for this product range. Head colour matching, passivation and specialty finishes can also be reviewed through the custom-order process.

Select the finish with the stainless steel grade, receiving material and environment. Include contact metals, exposure, colour and any test requirement in the specification. Availability and test documentation apply to the agreed configuration; no salt-spray duration is inferred from another product.

CUSTOMER QUESTIONS

Product, OEM & Packaging Q&A

Product selection, custom production and packing details for this screw design.

Product

Will the head automatically countersink into metal?

A metal panel normally needs a correctly sized seat for the countersunk head. Match seat angle, depth and remaining material to the selected screw and joint detail.

Product

Is this a winged board-to-metal screw?

No wings are specified for this design. Clearance through a wood or composite upper layer must be assessed independently; do not assume the screw will create the same clearance as a winged point.

Product

Does full threading remove the need for board preparation?

No. A fully threaded shank can engage the upper layer as well as the support. The board hole and clamping detail should allow the layers to close as intended.

OEM

Can you customise the head, drive and dimensions?

We can review head logos, head shapes, drive details, dimensions and tolerances against your drawing or specified ASME reference. The agreed design defines the production requirement.

OEM

Can you match a colour or surface treatment?

Head colour matching, passivation and specialty finishes can be reviewed for the selected material and application. Provide the colour reference and exposure conditions with your brief.

OEM

Are samples available before production?

Custom samples and initial inspection reports can be arranged before full production. The sample quantity, inspection scope and approval criteria are agreed during development.

Packaging

Which packing formats can we choose?

Small polybags, inner boxes and industrial bulk packing are available formats. Specify the quantity per pack and handling requirements so the packing specification can be agreed.

Packaging

Can inner and outer packs carry our brand?

Yes. Inner and outer box designs, printed logos and brand artwork can be prepared from your supplied files. Artwork and pack dimensions are reviewed before production.

Packaging

Can you include our barcodes and shipping marks?

Private labels, UPC / EAN barcodes, part numbers and shipping marks can be included in the packaging brief. Supply the required data and label layout for checking.

ORDER SUPPORT

Documents, Production & Delivery

Material & inspection records

Material test reports and mill certificates can be requested for the order. Agree the required documents, inspection scope and batch traceability against the selected material before production.

Stock & custom production

Available stock and factory production follow different order routes. Stock availability is checked for the requested configuration; bulk and custom orders are scheduled to the agreed specification and quantity. Timing is established in the quotation.

International shipping

FOB, CIF and DDP arrangements can be discussed for the destination. Shipment tracking supports the agreed transport route. Route availability, DDP coverage and delivery terms are established with the order.

Standards & Material References

Standards & Material References
Dimensional referencesASME B18.6.3 / ASME B18.2.1 / ANSI
Material / physical referencesASTM F593 (Group 1: 304/305; Group 2: 316) / ASTM A240

Confirm the edition, component scope and inspection documents. ANSI needs a specific reference; ASTM F593 group references do not add 305 as a sale option or certify the complete screw.
