Stainless Steel Trim Head Composite Deck Self-Drilling Screws

Heat-treated 410 stainless steel trim-head screws combine a Torx drive and self-drilling point for composite decking on light-gauge metal joists. The compact head and undercut detail address the board surface while the drill point works at the supporting frame.
- Heat-treated 410 stainless steel
- Low-profile trim head with an undercut detail
- Self-drilling point; capacity matched to support material and thickness
KEY FEATURES & PERFORMANCE
Compact head.
Metal-frame fixing.
Specify the composite, PVC or capstock board and the steel or aluminium support as one connection. Review the undercut trim-head seat and painted-head colour at the board surface, then match the drill point and thread engagement to the joist material and thickness.
- 01
Heat-treated 410 construction
Heat treatment develops the hardness used for drilling and tapping the metal support. Drilling and torsional performance are matched to the selected screw, support material and joint.
- 02
Drilling at the metal support
The point is intended to drill light-gauge steel or aluminium framing. The actual alloy and thickness must fall within the verified capacity of the chosen configuration.
- 03
A discreet trim-head detail
The small head reduces the visible fixing footprint at the deck surface. Match head size and seating depth to the board profile and the board supplier requirements.
- 04
Undercut head for board fibres
The underhead geometry is intended to draw board material into the fixing hole, helping limit raised fibres and mushrooming around the seat.
- 05
T20 / T25 Torx engagement
The listed star-drive sizes provide a positive bit interface for controlled driving. Confirm which size belongs to the selected screw before setting installation tools.
- 06
Colour and exterior finish options
An exterior finish and colour-matched head can be reviewed for the board and environment. Head appearance and complete-screw corrosion performance are separate requirements.

APPLICATIONS & CONNECTION PLANNING
Connections This Range Is Made For
Composite decking
Review the board composition, profile and fixing zones against the selected trim head. Board preparation may still be required even when the metal point is self-drilling.
PVC decking
PVC boards need seating and installation settings compatible with their expansion and surface characteristics. Follow the board supplier guidance for the complete fixing detail.
Capstock boards
For capped composite boards, check the surface layer and underhead action with a sample fixing. Steel or aluminium support grade and thickness must be specified separately.
Select against the actual materials, joint dimensions and exposure. Performance requirements need data for the ordered configuration and complete connection.
COATING SOLUTIONS
A Finish That Fits
the Project
Listed head colours include Teak, Charcoal, Cedar, Sand and White. Match the colour to an approved board sample and agree the exterior finish for the order.
For heat-treated 410, specify the complete protective finish and intended exposure separately from the head colour. Coating, passivation or other specialty requests need product-specific review; no universal corrosion life or salt-spray duration is implied.

Product, OEM & Packaging Q&A
Product selection, configuration checks, custom production and packaging for this range.
Product
Does the drill point remove the need to prepare the board?
Not necessarily. It addresses the metal support. Pilot holes or other board preparation still depend on the board profile and the manufacturer guidance.
Product
Can one screw configuration be used for steel and aluminium?
Do not assume the same capacity. Supply the support alloy, wall thickness and board build-up so drilling and clamping requirements can be checked for the selected screw.
Product
Is this also a 304 or 316 stainless steel product?
This product is specified as heat-treated 410 stainless steel. The general stainless-grade information elsewhere in the catalogue does not add 304, 305 or 316 variants to this range.
OEM
Can you customise the screw design?
Yes. Head markings, head and drive details, dimensions and tolerances can be reviewed against your drawing or specified standard. A custom design is agreed separately from the pictured configuration.
OEM
Can you match the head colour or finish?
Yes. Share the target colour, appearance and exposure conditions. Head painting, passivation and specialty finishing requests are reviewed for the selected material and screw configuration.
OEM
Can we approve samples before full production?
Custom samples and initial inspection reports can be arranged before the production order. The sample scope, cost and timing are confirmed during development.
Packaging
Which pack formats can we request?
Options include small polybags, inner boxes and industrial bulk packing. State the order quantity, units and preferred pack count; the final packing quantity and carton size are agreed for the order.
Packaging
Can the packaging carry our brand?
Yes. Inner and outer boxes, printed logos and supplied artwork can be included in a private-label packaging brief. Artwork and print details are approved before production.
Packaging
Can you include barcodes and shipping marks?
Private labels, UPC / EAN barcodes, part numbers and shipping marks can be included. Provide the required identifiers and label artwork so they can be checked against the product and pack format.
ORDER SUPPORT
Documents, Production & Delivery
Material & inspection records
MTRs and mill certificates can be requested with the enquiry. Identify the material, order and document requirements so record scope and batch traceability can be agreed. Inspection reports are matched to the selected configuration.
Stock, bulk & custom orders
Available stock, bulk production and custom work follow different scheduling routes. Confirm availability for the exact configuration; quantities, specification and sample approval determine the quoted production and dispatch schedule.
International shipping
FOB, CIF or DDP terms can be reviewed for your destination, with shipment tracking arranged for the agreed route. Destination availability, duties, charges and delivery timing are confirmed in the quotation.
Standards & Material References
| Dimensional references | ASME B18.6.3 / ASME B18.2.1 / ANSI |

| 410 material & heat treatment | Applicable standard and acceptance criteria to be agreed for the selected screw |
The source also lists ASTM F593 groups for 304/305/316 and ASTM A240. That generic list does not establish compliance for this heat-treated 410 screw; confirm applicable standards.
