304 / 305 stainless steel · Serrated deck-screw design
Stainless Steel Flat Head Serrated Thread Deck Screws

304 and 305 stainless steel deck screws combine a countersunk flat head, underhead nibs and a serrated thread. The thread is designed to cut through timber fibres with reduced driving resistance; the pictured cross recess remains subject to final drive confirmation.

- Drive and assembly details confirmed against the final sample
KEY FEATURES & PERFORMANCE
Serrated thread.
Smooth entry.
Check the serrated thread separately from the cutting nibs beneath the flat head. Match the thread to the timber and the countersunk seat to the board, then confirm the drive shown on the approved product drawing before ordering.
- 01
304 / 305 stainless steel
The product-specific description lists 304 and 305. Grade selection considers wood treatment and exposure; 305 is associated with forming characteristics, not a universal non-magnetic acceptance test.
- 02
Serrations cut timber fibres
Small cutting edges along the thread act on dense fibres as the screw advances, helping reduce driving resistance, friction and heat compared with an unassisted thread entry.
- 03
Reduced splitting tendency
Cutting through fibres can help limit stress around the fixing. Pilot preparation, board species and edge distance still matter; splitting is not excluded in every installation.
- 04
A countersunk board finish
The flat head provides a tapered seating form for the board surface. Review the head dimensions and board material to establish the desired seating depth.
- 05
Underhead nibs at the seat
Nibs beneath the head act at the seating area, separately from the serrated thread on the shank. Both details should be identified on the approved sample.
- 06
Drive confirmed with the sample
The retained product image shows a cross recess. Confirm the supplied drive before selecting a bit; the conflicting Torx listing is not treated as a verified variant.

APPLICATIONS & CONNECTION PLANNING
Connections This Range Is Made For
Pressure-treated timber
ACQ-treated timber requires grade and fastener compatibility review against the preservative and exposure. Specify the board, supporting timber and intended fixing detail.
Cedar, redwood & timber decks
Board species, density and edge distances guide pilot preparation and embedment. The serrated thread and flat head should suit the required board finish.
Wood-composite decking
Use the board manufacturer requirements to assess head seating and thread compatibility. A timber deck screw is not automatically suitable for every composite profile.
Select against the actual materials, joint dimensions and exposure. Performance requirements need data for the ordered configuration and complete connection.
COATING SOLUTIONS
A Finish That Fits
the Project
Head colour matching, passivation and specialty finishes can be reviewed with your selected screw. Include the desired appearance and exposure conditions in the enquiry.
Specify the stainless grade, contact materials and environment alongside the finish. A decorative head colour and a protective surface treatment serve different purposes; coating scope and any test requirements are agreed for the exact configuration.

Product, OEM & Packaging Q&A
Product selection, configuration checks, custom production and packaging for this range.
Product
Is the supplied drive Phillips or Torx?
The current image shows a cross recess, while the source text names Torx T20 / T25. The supplied drive is awaiting confirmation against a sample; no interchangeable or stock variant is implied.
Product
Are the thread serrations and head nibs the same feature?
No. Serrations lie along the thread, while nibs are beneath the head. Their positions and geometry should be confirmed separately on the product drawing.
Product
Is this a Type 17 or a metal-drilling screw?
The point form must be confirmed for the selected screw. Supply the supporting material and board thickness so the point and installation method can be reviewed.
OEM
Can you customise the screw design?
Yes. Head markings, head and drive details, dimensions and tolerances can be reviewed against your drawing or specified standard. A custom design is agreed separately from the pictured configuration.
OEM
Can you match the head colour or finish?
Yes. Share the target colour, appearance and exposure conditions. Head painting, passivation and specialty finishing requests are reviewed for the selected material and screw configuration.
OEM
Can we approve samples before full production?
Custom samples and initial inspection reports can be arranged before the production order. The sample scope, cost and timing are confirmed during development.
Packaging
Which pack formats can we request?
Options include small polybags, inner boxes and industrial bulk packing. State the order quantity, units and preferred pack count; the final packing quantity and carton size are agreed for the order.
Packaging
Can the packaging carry our brand?
Yes. Inner and outer boxes, printed logos and supplied artwork can be included in a private-label packaging brief. Artwork and print details are approved before production.
Packaging
Can you include barcodes and shipping marks?
Private labels, UPC / EAN barcodes, part numbers and shipping marks can be included. Provide the required identifiers and label artwork so they can be checked against the product and pack format.
ORDER SUPPORT
Documents, Production & Delivery
Material & inspection records
MTRs and mill certificates can be requested with the enquiry. Identify the material, order and document requirements so record scope and batch traceability can be agreed. Inspection reports are matched to the selected configuration.
Stock, bulk & custom orders
Available stock, bulk production and custom work follow different scheduling routes. Confirm availability for the exact configuration; quantities, specification and sample approval determine the quoted production and dispatch schedule.
International shipping
FOB, CIF or DDP terms can be reviewed for your destination, with shipment tracking arranged for the agreed route. Destination availability, duties, charges and delivery timing are confirmed in the quotation.
Standards & Material References
| Dimensional references | ASME B18.6.3 / ASME B18.2.1 / ANSI |
|---|---|
| Material / physical references | ASTM F593 (Group 1: 304/305; Group 2: 316) / ASTM A240 |
Source-listed references require confirmation of edition and component scope; specify the exact ANSI standard. The list is not a certificate or proof that every reference applies to this screw.
