Pan head · Torx drive · Self-drilling point
Stainless Steel Pan Head Torx Self-Drilling Screws

The pan head provides a flat bearing underside while a deep Torx recess gives the driver a positive approach. A self-drilling point and full-length tapping thread form the fastening sequence for selected sheet-metal, frame and enclosure connections.
- Heat-treated 410, 304 or 316 stainless steel
- Torx drive with a raised pan-head profile
- Self-drilling Tek point and full-length tapping thread
KEY FEATURES & PERFORMANCE
Firm engagement.
A pan-head seat.
This pan-head design stays above the surface and clamps through its flat underside. The Torx recess, drilling point and tapping thread address different stages of installation. Choose the material and point for the support, while leaving enough clearance for the head and driver.
- 01
Material choices for the connection
Heat-treated 410 offers a harder option; 304 and 316 address different exposure requirements. Consider 316 for salt or chemical exposure. The chosen material, point construction and support must be assessed together.
- 02
Pan-head bearing face
A rounded upper profile and flat underside suit panels and brackets that do not require a countersink. The projecting head remains part of the assembly clearance and bearing-area check.
- 03
Deep Torx engagement
The star recess provides multiple contact faces for torque transfer with the matching bit. Correct bit size and alignment support engagement; the design is not an unconditional guarantee against drive damage.
- 04
Combined drilling and fastening
The Tek point opens the hole before the tapping thread advances into the support. This can combine installation stages when the point, screw material and substrate are suitably matched.
- 05
Full-length tapping thread
The source specifies thread along the shank for continuous engagement. Required grip, support thickness and thread engagement determine the connection; no vibration or withdrawal rating follows from thread form alone.
- 06
Finish for exposed assemblies
Ruspert is a listed option for the product range. Select the finish with the body material, support metal and environment, particularly where the fixing joins unlike metals or sits outdoors.

APPLICATIONS & CONNECTION PLANNING
Connections & Selection Details
Sheet metal & aluminium
Metal panels and aluminium extrusion frames require the point and thread to match the receiving section. Note each layer thickness and contact metal, and check that the pan head has a suitable flat seat.
Electrical cabinets & HVAC
Cabinet panels and HVAC components need space for the Torx driver and projecting pan head. Include cover clearance, internal equipment and any requirement to keep the drill tip clear of services.
Solar & machinery brackets
Solar brackets and industrial machinery are listed applications. Specify the bracket material, support thickness and design loads; project data is needed before treating the fixing as a rated structural connection.
Use the fixing schedule and data for the selected fastener and joint. Published applications do not establish a rated load or universal installation method.
COATING SOLUTIONS
A Finish for
the Connection
Ruspert is a listed option for this product range. Head colour matching, passivation and specialty finishes can also be reviewed through the custom-order process.
Select the finish with the stainless steel grade, receiving material and environment. Include contact metals, exposure, colour and any test requirement in the specification. Availability and test documentation apply to the agreed configuration; no salt-spray duration is inferred from another product.

Product, OEM & Packaging Q&A
Product selection, custom production and packing details for this screw design.
Product
Does the pan head sit flush with the panel?
The rounded pan head remains above the surface; its flat underside provides the clamping face. This design does not use a countersunk head, so allow clearance around covers and moving components.
Product
Can all three materials drill the same support?
The material list does not establish identical drilling performance. Match the ordered grade and point construction to the substrate and thickness, using data for that configuration.
Product
What should be specified for the Torx drive?
Specify the recess size and matching driver with the screw configuration. Allow a straight tool approach and sufficient head clearance for installation and later access.
OEM
Can you customise the head, drive and dimensions?
We can review head logos, head shapes, drive details, dimensions and tolerances against your drawing or specified ASME reference. The agreed design defines the production requirement.
OEM
Can you match a colour or surface treatment?
Head colour matching, passivation and specialty finishes can be reviewed for the selected material and application. Provide the colour reference and exposure conditions with your brief.
OEM
Are samples available before production?
Custom samples and initial inspection reports can be arranged before full production. The sample quantity, inspection scope and approval criteria are agreed during development.
Packaging
Which packing formats can we choose?
Small polybags, inner boxes and industrial bulk packing are available formats. Specify the quantity per pack and handling requirements so the packing specification can be agreed.
Packaging
Can inner and outer packs carry our brand?
Yes. Inner and outer box designs, printed logos and brand artwork can be prepared from your supplied files. Artwork and pack dimensions are reviewed before production.
Packaging
Can you include our barcodes and shipping marks?
Private labels, UPC / EAN barcodes, part numbers and shipping marks can be included in the packaging brief. Supply the required data and label layout for checking.
ORDER SUPPORT
Documents, Production & Delivery
Material & inspection records
Material test reports and mill certificates can be requested for the order. Agree the required documents, inspection scope and batch traceability against the selected material before production.
Stock & custom production
Available stock and factory production follow different order routes. Stock availability is checked for the requested configuration; bulk and custom orders are scheduled to the agreed specification and quantity. Timing is established in the quotation.
International shipping
FOB, CIF and DDP arrangements can be discussed for the destination. Shipment tracking supports the agreed transport route. Route availability, DDP coverage and delivery terms are established with the order.
Standards & Material References
| Dimensional references | ASME B18.6.3 / ASME B18.2.1 / ANSI |
|---|---|
| Material / physical references | ASTM F593 (Group 1: 304/305; Group 2: 316) / ASTM A240 |
Confirm the edition, component scope and inspection documents. ANSI needs a specific reference; ASTM F593 group references do not add 305 as a sale option or certify the complete screw.
