Stainless Steel Pan Head Square Drive Wood Screws

304 and 316 stainless steel pan-head wood screws combine a Robertson square drive with a partial-thread shank. The broad head, smooth upper section and coarse wood thread support clamping in cabinetry, pocket-hole joinery and outdoor timber assemblies.
- 304 / 316 stainless steel
- Pan head with a flat bearing surface
- Sharp gimlet wood point
KEY FEATURES & PERFORMANCE
Square drive.
Firm clamping.
Select the partial-thread layout so the smooth upper shank matches the attached timber and the lower thread engages the receiving member. Allow space for the raised pan head and confirm the Robertson square bit size against the ordered configuration.
- 01
Grade selection for the exposure
304, often described as 18-8, is used for general exposure; molybdenum-bearing 316 is considered for salt or chemical conditions. Match the grade to the timber treatment or contact materials and environment.
- 02
Positive square-drive engagement
The deep square recess seats a matching Robertson bit firmly, helping retain the screw during one-handed positioning and transmit driving torque with less tendency to slip.
- 03
Broad pan-head bearing
The flat underside spreads clamping force over the timber, fitting or pocket-hole seat. Check the bearing area and head clearance without forcing the raised head below the surface.
- 04
Smooth shank for board clamping
The unthreaded upper section lets the top member move towards the receiving timber as the lower threads engage, helping reduce board jacking when the shank length suits the joint.
- 05
A sharp start in timber
The gimlet point helps locate the fixing and initiate thread engagement. Hard timber, larger diameters and close edge distances may still require a prepared pilot hole.
- 06
Coarse threads for wood engagement
Deep wood threads engage the receiving timber for pull-out resistance. Final holding performance depends on species, embedment and the selected screw dimensions.

The listed dimensions are a range, not a diameter-by-length stock matrix. Grade, size, drive, thread, point and finish are confirmed together with the quotation.
APPLICATIONS & CONNECTION PLANNING
Connections This Range Is Made For
Pocket holes & cabinetry
The pan head bears on the prepared pocket or fitting, while the square drive provides tool engagement in recessed access. Confirm the pocket angle, head seat and driver approach for the cabinet joint.
Outdoor furniture
For exposed furniture and timber assemblies, select the stainless grade against moisture and preservative treatment. Include the upper-board thickness so the smooth shank can be matched to the connection.
General timber assemblies
Hardwood, softwood and plywood require different hole preparation and engagement. Identify the material, edge distances and joint thickness before selecting the screw size.
Select against the actual materials, joint dimensions and exposure. Performance requirements need data for the ordered configuration and complete connection.
COATING SOLUTIONS
A Finish That Fits
the Project
Head colour matching, passivation and specialty finishes can be reviewed with your selected screw. Include the desired appearance and exposure conditions in the enquiry.
Specify the stainless grade, contact materials and environment alongside the finish. A decorative head colour and a protective surface treatment serve different purposes; coating scope and any test requirements are agreed for the exact configuration.

Product, OEM & Packaging Q&A
Product selection, configuration checks, custom production and packaging for this range.
Product
Which square-drive size should we specify?
The source range lists Robertson #1 and #2. The correct bit size is confirmed against the selected screw and drawing; the two sizes are not interchangeable.
Product
Does partial thread mean a fixed smooth-shank length?
No. Specify overall length and the required unthreaded length. The smooth shank should suit the upper-member thickness, rather than being assumed to equal half the screw length.
Product
Is this a substitute for a countersunk screw?
The pan head remains above its bearing face. A countersunk screw requires a different seat, so compare head clearance, fitting geometry and the final joint detail before substituting.
OEM
Can you customise the screw design?
Yes. Head markings, head and drive details, dimensions and tolerances can be reviewed against your drawing or specified standard. A custom design is agreed separately from the pictured configuration.
OEM
Can you match the head colour or finish?
Yes. Share the target colour, appearance and exposure conditions. Head painting, passivation and specialty finishing requests are reviewed for the selected material and screw configuration.
OEM
Can we approve samples before full production?
Custom samples and initial inspection reports can be arranged before the production order. The sample scope, cost and timing are confirmed during development.
Packaging
Which pack formats can we request?
Options include small polybags, inner boxes and industrial bulk packing. State the order quantity, units and preferred pack count; the final packing quantity and carton size are agreed for the order.
Packaging
Can the packaging carry our brand?
Yes. Inner and outer boxes, printed logos and supplied artwork can be included in a private-label packaging brief. Artwork and print details are approved before production.
Packaging
Can you include barcodes and shipping marks?
Private labels, UPC / EAN barcodes, part numbers and shipping marks can be included. Provide the required identifiers and label artwork so they can be checked against the product and pack format.
ORDER SUPPORT
Documents, Production & Delivery
Material & inspection records
MTRs and mill certificates can be requested with the enquiry. Identify the material, order and document requirements so record scope and batch traceability can be agreed. Inspection reports are matched to the selected configuration.
Stock, bulk & custom orders
Available stock, bulk production and custom work follow different scheduling routes. Confirm availability for the exact configuration; quantities, specification and sample approval determine the quoted production and dispatch schedule.
International shipping
FOB, CIF or DDP terms can be reviewed for your destination, with shipment tracking arranged for the agreed route. Destination availability, duties, charges and delivery timing are confirmed in the quotation.
