Stainless Steel Pan Head Phillips Partial-Thread Wood Screws

These 304 and 316 stainless steel wood screws combine a Phillips pan head with a partial-thread shank. The smooth upper section helps draw the attached timber against the receiving member, while the raised head provides a broad surface seat.
- 304 / 316 stainless steel
- Pan head with a flat bearing surface
- Sharp gimlet wood point
KEY FEATURES & PERFORMANCE
Smooth shank.
Close-fitting joints.
Review the Phillips pan head and partial-thread arrangement for the timber connection. Match the smooth shank to the upper member and confirm the required thread engagement in the receiving timber.
- 01
Grade selection for the exposure
304, often described as 18-8, is used for general exposure; molybdenum-bearing 316 is considered for salt or chemical conditions. Match the grade to the timber treatment or contact materials and environment.
- 02
Partial thread supports clamp-up
The smooth section allows the upper board to move as the lower thread engages the receiving timber. Match unthreaded length to the joint to help reduce board jacking.
- 03
Pan-head bearing area
The flat underside spreads clamping force over timber or a fitting. Allow for the raised head and check the seat rather than forcing it below the surface.
- 04
Familiar Phillips tooling
The Phillips recess works with a matching cross-head bit or screwdriver. Correct bit size, alignment and drive setting help maintain engagement and reduce slippage.
- 05
A sharp start
The gimlet point helps the screw bite at the marked position. A suitable pilot hole may still be needed for dense timber, larger diameters or tight edge distances.
- 06
Coarse wood-thread grip
The threaded lower section engages wood fibres for holding strength. Species, embedment and joint dimensions determine the final pull-out and clamping performance.

APPLICATIONS & CONNECTION PLANNING
Connections This Range Is Made For
Cabinetry & timber joinery
Consider the upper-member thickness and required smooth-shank length together. The pan head can bear on the surface or a fitting where a raised head is acceptable.
Outdoor furniture
Use the specified stainless grade for the exposure and timber treatment. Hardwood, softwood and engineered boards need appropriate hole preparation and engagement.
Marine woodworking & fixtures
For marine timber fixtures and metal hardware, assess salt exposure, contact metals and the head seat. The connection specification determines grade and fixing suitability.
Select against the actual materials, joint dimensions and exposure. Performance requirements need data for the ordered configuration and complete connection.
COATING SOLUTIONS
A Finish That Fits
the Project
Head colour matching, passivation and specialty finishes can be reviewed with your selected screw. Include the desired appearance and exposure conditions in the enquiry.
Specify the stainless grade, contact materials and environment alongside the finish. A decorative head colour and a protective surface treatment serve different purposes; coating scope and any test requirements are agreed for the exact configuration.

Product, OEM & Packaging Q&A
Product selection, configuration checks, custom production and packaging for this range.
Product
Does partial thread mean exactly half of the screw?
No fixed proportion is implied. Give the total length and required unthreaded length so the thread layout can be matched to the upper member and receiving timber.
Product
Can it be driven with a Torx or square bit?
This version uses Phillips. Use the matching bit size. A different drive is a separate configuration that needs to be agreed with the order drawing.
Product
Can the pan head replace a countersunk fixing?
Only after the joint has been reviewed. The pan head remains above its bearing surface, while a countersunk screw relies on a differently shaped seat.
OEM
Can you customise the screw design?
Yes. Head markings, head and drive details, dimensions and tolerances can be reviewed against your drawing or specified standard. A custom design is agreed separately from the pictured configuration.
OEM
Can you match the head colour or finish?
Yes. Share the target colour, appearance and exposure conditions. Head painting, passivation and specialty finishing requests are reviewed for the selected material and screw configuration.
OEM
Can we approve samples before full production?
Custom samples and initial inspection reports can be arranged before the production order. The sample scope, cost and timing are confirmed during development.
Packaging
Which pack formats can we request?
Options include small polybags, inner boxes and industrial bulk packing. State the order quantity, units and preferred pack count; the final packing quantity and carton size are agreed for the order.
Packaging
Can the packaging carry our brand?
Yes. Inner and outer boxes, printed logos and supplied artwork can be included in a private-label packaging brief. Artwork and print details are approved before production.
Packaging
Can you include barcodes and shipping marks?
Private labels, UPC / EAN barcodes, part numbers and shipping marks can be included. Provide the required identifiers and label artwork so they can be checked against the product and pack format.
ORDER SUPPORT
Documents, Production & Delivery
Material & inspection records
MTRs and mill certificates can be requested with the enquiry. Identify the material, order and document requirements so record scope and batch traceability can be agreed. Inspection reports are matched to the selected configuration.
Stock, bulk & custom orders
Available stock, bulk production and custom work follow different scheduling routes. Confirm availability for the exact configuration; quantities, specification and sample approval determine the quoted production and dispatch schedule.
International shipping
FOB, CIF or DDP terms can be reviewed for your destination, with shipment tracking arranged for the agreed route. Destination availability, duties, charges and delivery timing are confirmed in the quotation.
